Google Docs is an online office suite of apps, available free with a Google account.
Constantly improving, Google Docs is fast becoming a tool that could supersede Microsoft Office. Featuring a word processor, presentation app, spreadsheets, forms and a drawing tool, it's a very capable collection.
Google docs is easy to use from the start, as it's simpler than Microsoft's desktop app, with a much clearer interface. It is not as advanced as Office, but it will more than cover most people's needs, and it has some huge advantages over the competition.
Sharing and collaboration is what makes Google Docs so special. You can share and document with anyone you like, privately to some people, publicly, or create a link that anyone can use. Editing rights can also be given to others. Editing happens in real time, and you can always see who is editing your documents. For collaboration, it's absolutely fantastic, and even better is that not only are changes saved automatically, but you can easily see old versions too.
Google Docs files can be downloaded to your computer in most common formats, so can be used in your desktop programs too. However, Docs is so convenient and easy to use, you might find you give up on desktop apps altogether.
Google Docs is a fantastic online office suite. It's stable, full of functions and has brilliant sharing and collaboration tools.
